Fifty-two-year-old Dušan has always been an active athlete, a nature lover, a hardworking man, and above all, a loving father and husband. In the spring of 2024, however, his life was hit by unexpected news – a diagnosis of diffuse midline glioma Grade IV, an extremely rare brain tumor that mainly affects children and teenagers. However, it affects everyone regardless of age.

Although doctors in Brno managed to remove almost the entire tumor and Dušan underwent radiotherapy and chemotherapy, the disease began to worsen again in February 2025. The possibilities of standard treatment in the Czech Republic were exhausted.

Because our goal is to help not only children affected by this extremely serious disease, we decided to arrange and support the possibility of expanded access to the drug ONC201 for Dušan and other patients.

With our help, Dušan was included in the expanded access program for the experimental drug ONC201 at the Institute Gustave Roussy, which allows this treatment option for foreign clients. Unfortunately, the costs of treatment are unbearable - 250,000 CZK or more per month. In France, Germany, Spain, or for example in Australia, treatment reimbursement through health insurance is possible. In the Czech Republic, where this program is not yet available, reimbursement from the insurance company is not possible either.

We are now asking for your help in financing Dušan's treatment. The collected funds will help Dušan fight on and give his family a chance for more time together.
